About

What is a dame?

If you ask a dairy farmer, they’ll tell you every calf has a dame – a mother.

If you ask Webster, a dame is any women of rank or authority. A matron.

I’m a dame.

I married a man who is allergic to animals. We have three kiddos who like to pull us in all different directions

But these will always remain consistent: Hope, Love, and Faith.

My Motto:

You can take the girl from the farm, but you can’t take the farm from the girl.

My Background:

I grew up on a dairy farm in Central Pennsylvania. I was the first in my family to go to college. I graduated with a B.S. in Accounting. I was also the last girl to move off the farm. However, I never can stay away for very long.

I’m Pro-Dairy.

I once had someone walk up to me in the dairy section of my local grocery store and try to convince me that dairy products were bad. My reply, “I grew up on a dairy farm.” Talk about an awkward moment. That person took hold of their shopping cart and turned away without another word.

Bring on the ice cream.

Although my dad has always said that a good dairymen never lets his milk spoil, I still like cottage cheese, sour cream, and even butter milk. However, freezing milk it into something sweet and delicious is an absolute must!

There’s nothing like an ice cream cone while you walk around a farm auction and discovering new ideas and interesting inventions of the dairy industry today.

I hope you’ll continue to join me in sharing those ideas about farming, families, and faith.
